Dr Lily Kumbani obtained her Doctor of Philosophy with focus in maternal and neonatal health from the University of Oslo, Norway in 2014. Dr Kumbani’s PhD research work was on perinatal care and perinatal outcomes in Chiradzulu District.
Previously, Dr Kumbani was an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Nursing’s Maternal and Child Health department (MCH). She served as Head of the MCH department from 2007 to 2008.
Dr Kumbani is particularly interested in the issue of improving quality of health promotion in low-resource contexts where there are severe provider shortages. Dr Kumbani has substantial knowledge of the Malawi health system nationally and at the local level. Read more
