Kamuzu University of Health Sciences is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill positions of Staff Associate Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in various disciplines as outlined below. Successful Candidate will be expected to teach, conduct research and publish in their areas of specialization. FACULTY OF NURSING

1. Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Theatre Nursing

Applicants for the position must have the following qualifications and experience:

      • Master’s Degree with a specialization in Theatre Nursing
      • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or in Nursing and Midwifery with a distinction or credit, at least 2 years’ bedside experience
      • Be a registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi, those with PhDs in the required field may be considered for position of senior lecturer depending on weighting of publications and those with experience in teaching at tertiary level will have an added advantage.

2. Staff Associate/Assistant Lecturer /Lecturer in Adult Health Nursing 

Lecturer

Applicants for the position of Lecturer must have a Master’s degree in Adult Health Nursing, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Adult Health Nursing or Nursing and Midwifery with a distinction or credit or its equivalent, at least 2 years’ clinical bedside experience and be a registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi. Those with teaching experience will have an added advantage

Assistant Lecturer 

Applicants applying for position of Assistant Lecturer must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Adult Health Nursing or Nursing and Midwifery with a distinction or credit, at least 2 years’ bedside experience and be a registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi.

Staff Associate

Applicants applying for position of Staff Associate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Adult Health Nursing or Nursing and Midwifery with a distinction or credit and be a registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi.

3. Assistant Lecturer /Lecturer in Child Health Nursing 

Lecturer

Applicants for the position of Lecturer must have a Master’s in Child Health Nursing, a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, Nursing and Midwifery or Child Health Nursing with a distinction/credit or its equivalent, at least 2 years’ clinical bedside experience and be registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi.  Those with teaching experience will have an added advantage

FACULTY OF COMMUNITY HEALTH STUDIES

4. Staff Associate/Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer in Community Health Nursing 

Lecturer 

Applicants for the position of Lecturer must have a Master’s in Community Health Nursing, a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health Nursing or Nursing and Midwifery with a distinction or credit, at least 2 years’ clinical bedside experience and be registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi. Those with experience in teaching at tertiary level will have an added advantage.

Assistant Lecturer

Applicants applying for the position of Assistant Lecturer should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health Nursing or Nursing and Midwifery with a Distinction or Credit, at least 2 years’ bedside experience and be registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi.

Staff Associate 

Applicants applying for the position of Staff associate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health Nursing with a Distinction/Credit and be registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi.

FACULTY OF MIDWIFERY, NEONATAL AND REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH STUDIES 5. Assistant Lecturer /Lecturer in Midwifery

Lecturer

Applicants for the position of Lecturer must have a Master’s Degree in Midwifery, Reproductive Health, Neonatal Care or Maternal and new born Health, a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery, Nursing and Midwifery or Bachelor of Science of Nursing with a University Certificate on Midwifery with a distinction or credit or its equivalent, at least 2 years’ bedside experience and be registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi. Those with teaching experience will have an added advantage

FACULTY OF APPLIED HEALTH STUDIES  6. Lecturer in Nursing and Midwifery Education

Applicants for the position must have Master’s Degree in Education with specialization in Curriculum/Testing and Measurement or Master in Nursing and Midwifery Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery, Bachelor of Science of Nursing with a University Certificate on Midwifery or a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a distinction or credit or its equivalent. Candidate’s that are Nursing and Midwifery professions must be registered and paid up member of the Nurses and Midwifery Council of Malawi were applicable. Those with a teaching experience at tertiary level and in open and distance education (ODeL) will be an added advantage.

Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses in curriculum and teaching studies, educational testing and measurement, and sociology of education.

7. Staff Associate/Lecturer in Chemistry

Lecturer Chemistry 

Applicants for the position of lecturer in Chemistry must have a Master’s Degree in Biochemistry or Chemistry, a Bachelor Science majoring in Chemistry and with a minor in Biology with distinction or credit. Those with teaching experience at tertiary level and in open and distance education (ODeL) will be an added advantage.

Staff Associate in Chemistry

Applicants for the position Staff Associate in Chemistry must have a Bachelor Science majoring in Chemistry and with a minor in Biology with distinction or credit. Those with teaching experience at tertiary level and in open and distance education (ODeL) will be an added advantage.

Those with Nursing and Midwifery qualifications must include copies of the Nurses and Midwifery Council Certificate and membership fee receipts.
