The University of Wisconsin is an American university based in Milwaukee. The University is recognized for its commitment to research spending over $59 million each year to fund research and researchers across disciplines.
Kamuzu College of Nursing’s main area of collaboration with the University of Wisconsin is focused on student exchanges in community health nursing. This partnership began in 2001 and is continuing presently. Achievements, include the development of both a Masters and PhD program, curriculum in community health, as well as the introduction of scholarships of faculty. Students accompanied by faculty from the University of Wisconsin, are able to visit Malawi for a period of three weeks, to observe and gain a deeper understanding of health care issues and systems at community, district, and central levels.
