The University of Illinois has been a collaborative partner with Kamuzu College of Nursing since 2001. The main areas of collaboration focused on faculty development and research projects. Achievements of the partnership are the awarding of PhD scholarships to Faculty and MSc scholarships. Faculty from both the University of Illinois at Chicago and Kamuzu College of Nursing have also conducted and published research on topics including HIV.
