Auburn University is an American university located in the state of Alabama. Auburn, is a comprehensive university committed to insuring quality education and research. The University is involved in several outreach programs available to undergraduate and graduate students while expanding the vision of the University. Collaborative agreements have been established between Auburn University and Kamuzu College of Nursing since 2011. The main area of collaboration is student exchange and capacity building. The student exchange program allows for Auburn University students to visit Malawi for a period of 10 days, learning and working alongside Kamuzu College students in clinics. The objectives of this program is for students to develop hands on experience, utilizing their nursing skills in an unfamiliar culture and community, while also providing a global public health learning opportunity while also cultivating closer ties between the two institutions.
