The University of Zambia is committed to creating a participatory learning and research environment. Based in Lusaka, the University has been in operation since 1966. The University was also the site of the first Medical School in Zambia, with the Nursing Sciences program incorporated under this department.
The focus of the collaboration between Kamuzu College of Nursing and the University of Zambia is faculty exchange. The University is also involved in several of the multi-institution projects, including the NORAD project for the development of graduate and postgraduate training programs, with the University of Oslo, the University of Tromso, and the University of Zimbabwe.
