The University of New Brunswick is a Canadian University and research institution that has been in operation since 1785. UNB offers a variety of programs at Bachelors, Masters, and PhD levels, including Nursing, Science, Arts, Engineering and Kinesiology.

The University of New Brunswick has had collaborative University to University agreements with Kamuzu College of Nursing since 2011. The initial program operated under the AUCC Students for Development Program. This agreement has continued with the new Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Scholarship Program, formed by the Rideau Hall Foundation and Canada’s foundation network. Under the QES Program, University of New Brunswick students are provided with funding to do an internship related to their field of study in a commonwealth country. Kamuzu College of Nursing is one of the organizations that receives interns in Malawi and supports the internships of UNB Nursing students. In 2016, six University of New Brunswick nursing students will take part in the internship program, with placements at KCN. At these placements students have the opportunity to learn with KCN students and take part in clinical placements, both in communities and at medical centres
