Kamuzu College of Nursing, a constituent college of the University of Malawi, is inviting

POSITION: Chaplain
LOCATION :Kamuzu College of Nursing Lilongwe Campus
SALARY: Within the University of Malawi, Part-time Remuneration Structure
TYPE: Part-time
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Dean of Students and working closely with the Assistant Registrar (Students
Welfare), the main purpose of the job is to provide moral and spiritual support to for their general well-being. staff and students
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Providing advice to management in matters relating to religion and morals.
2. Providing general counselling to students and staff regardless of one's faith.
3. Attending to pastoral needs of students and staff and the College community in general
4. Coordinating church services of the various groups on campus in liaison with student
leaders
5. Overseeing religious ministries on campus
6. Presiding over ceremonies like funerals and memorials services and other relevant special
events
7. Providing spiritual and moral support to distressed students and staff
8. Developing and maintaining rapport between the College and Religious bodies
9. Coordinating daily devotions
Qualification, Experience & Competencies
 Bachelor of Theology/Counselling/ or related field from a recognized institution
 At least 5 years’ experience in chaplaincy/pastoral/counselling work
 Proven experience in interfaith dialogue
 Sound moral and spiritual background
 Ability to handle sensitive clients issues with excellency, maturity and wisdom
 Passionate about young people’s wellbeing
