Kamuzu College of Nursing, a constituent college of the University of Malawi is inviting
applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following vacant post:
POSITION: Lecturer in Medical and Surgical Nursing
LOCATION: Kamuzu College of Nursing campuses in Lilongwe and Blantyre
SALARY: Within the University of Malawi, Academic staff salary structure.
TYPE: Permanent or fixed term contract as per UNIMA conditions of service regulating the terms of engagement in academic members of staff
JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Head of Medical and Surgical Nursing Department,the main purpose of the job is to teach,conduct research and publish in medical and surgical nursing.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The following are the key responsibilities of the post:
1.Teaching students.
2.Planning,administering, and processing students assessments.
3.Supervising students in clinical areas,students projects,dissertations and similar works.
4.Executing admininistrative duties assigned by the offices of the Principal, the Dean or Head of Department
5.Conducting research, consultancy and publishing
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Applicant must have: at least a Master of Science in Nursing; a strong first degree in a related
field ;hands on clinical experience in bedside nursing; paid up and active member of the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi.
