Kamuzu College of Nursing, a constituent College of the University of Malawi
, is pleased to inform
all first year and continuing generic students that first semester for the 2017/2018 academic year shall begin on
Monday, 06th November, 2017. All new students are required to report to the College on 30th October, 2017 for orientation.
All students under the following programmes shall be based at Blantyre Campus. First year students shall report at the Old Campus behind Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) while the rest shall report at the new Blantyre Campus (Kameza Roundabout).
- Bachelor of Science in Adult Health Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Child Health Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Community Health Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing
- Bachelor of Science in Midwifery
All students under the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery programme shall report at Lilongwe Campus. Fourth year students shall proceed direct to their allocated clinical sites and therefore do not need to report to Campus.
Registration
Registration shall take place on 6th November 2017 from 8:30 a.m.
Tuition Fees
Fees is currently at
K400,000 per year for first year and second year generic students and
K350,000 per year for third and fourth year generic students. Students must pay at least half of the fees before registration.
All fees should be paid through the bank in advance. First year students should contact the College for their unique bank numbers.
Additional Requirements for first year students
In addition to University of Malawi recommended financial contribution, first year generic students are required to bring the following:
- MK17,800.00 Nurses Council Indexing and Professional File fees to be paid in College within 30 days of registration. Please do not deposit this money in the bank.
- Original MSCE Certificate/Notification of results.
- Two passport size photographs.
- Uniform
- Females: 2 white dresses (or skirt and blouse) and 2 Nurses’ caps
- Males: 2 white safari suits and 2 epaulets
- All students: 2 pairs of black covered flat shoes, Name tag
- Stethoscope.
- Thermometer.
- Nurses’ Watch.
- Blood Pressure machine
- A blue or white cardigan for females
- 2 green dresses for females (required during Community Health Nursing experience)
- 2 green dust coats for males (required during Community Health Nursing experience)
- 1 pair of white gumboots for Medical Surgical, Maternal and Child Health Nursing experience.
College Accomodation
The College has limited accommodation at a fee and all first year generic students who would like to stay on campus should apply for reservation to the following address:

The cost of College Accommodation is currently at
MK40,000.00 per Semester
or K10,000 per month.
Continuing students whose application for accommodation was successful will be notified through email. Alternatively they are free to inquire from the College.
For all those offered College accommodation, keys to rooms will only be issued upon production of bank deposit slip for tuition and accommodation fees.
